I took some time over the weekend to create a "Glovalytics" overview that charts the pricing from the beginning of Covid thru today & into the 1st qtr of next year.
Linkedin wouldn't take the video unless it was shorter - so it is sped up - I really don't talk like Alvin the Chipmunk :)
I also pulled the covers back a bit on how the gloves go from the factory price to the buyer's price.
I will caveat the above with -for MOST consumer products in the marketplace - a brand normally will mark up 2 to 4 times their factory pricing & then sell to a wholesaler - who then marks up 2 to 2.5 times to the consumer - this is completely normal in most consumer products. The markups are much less in PPE & should be for many reasons.
One big difference is the infrastructure & fixed costs involved with running the brand company & the wholesale distribution company. Marketing, Product Development, Importing Costs, Packaging, Customer Acquisition Cost, Sales Teams, Facility Costs, Staff Costs, Travel, Trade Shows, etc. all add to the costs of bringing the product to the market.
